At the start of 2019 I returned to a local networking group CWE- Cumbrian Women in Enterprise. The group meets once a month at Carlisle's landmark Crown and Mitre Hotel. The evening group is just for women and is a great opportunity to meet other local female business owners to discuss ideas, share tips and build confidence. Each meeting begins with a one-minute intro from each woman to share her business with the group with any exciting updates! One member of the group gets to showcase their business and tell us in more detail about their business.
One of the best benefits of attending CWE is the presentation by Pauline Wright, an amazing international business coach who focusses on a specific topic each time. I have learned so much from listening to Pauline's advice and have been able to implement it into my own business.
The meetings are organised by Helen from Candy Print which is another fantastic Carlisle business – Helen also hosts a number of other networking events such as 'Daytime CWE/CME' which includes the male business owners from Cumbrian Men in Enterprise and also 'Curry Night' which is held at a local Indian Restaurant – which at the moment is The Viceroy. I was lucky enough to be able to showcase my business at last weeks 'Daytime CWE/CMW' along with Chris from Light Bulb Web Design who gave us all some great website information and tips for SEO. I created a little display with some of my new gift items and a flower arrangement and told the group about my business journey so far and my plans for the future plus more of an insight into all the product I have to offer. At the end one lucky person won the flower arrangement to take home, which was the lovely Rachel from Cumbria Ballet whose lovely business card was plucked from the bowl!
